The rapid decline in GPU prices is creating a new dynamic in the graphics card market, with the flagship NVIDIA RTX 5090 now available at its manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) or even lower in select instances.
NVIDIA RTX 5090’s Price Drops Below €2, 000 for the First Time
Significant price shifts have been noted in the NVIDIA RTX 50 series, with many models inching closer to their original MSRP. The GeForce RTX 5090, which was previously priced above $2, 500, is now being offered at €1, 999 in some locations, marking a rare instance of pricing below its official launch price of €2, 229 in Europe. This shift indicates a broader trend of diminishing prices in the GPU market.

One notable example is the MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Ventus 3X OC edition, which was observed on Mindfactory for €1, 999. Although its price has rebounded to approximately €2, 698, savvy shoppers can still find it for slightly less than MSRP at Alza.de.

Research conducted on Geizhals reveals a consistent drop in prices for the GeForce RTX 5090 over recent days, with several editions now retailing between €2, 200 and €2, 500. This improvement in pricing contrasts sharply with previous rates, where availability was restricted for quite some time.

Other models within the RTX 50 series, including the RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070, are also experiencing significant price reductions across various retailers. While prices often exceed MSRP, the previous inflation of 40-50% above original estimates is beginning to subside, suggesting a potential stabilization of the market in the near future. We recommend consumers maintain patience for a few days or weeks as the pricing landscape continues to stabilize.
Radeon RX 9070 Series Also Seeing Price Reductions
In parallel, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 series has mirrored this trend, with the RX 9070 XT now approaching its announced MSRP. Select models are available for as low as €700, closely aligning with the MSRP of €689. Furthermore, reports indicate that the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC has seen a decrease of nearly €40 since last month.

Additionally, the RX 9070 has recorded a sharper decline; the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC is currently priced at €600, which is €29 below its official MSRP. This trend raises hopes for continued price drops across various GPU models as the market seeks to recover from several months of instability.
