NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series graphics cards are gaining traction in the market, with the RTX 5070 recently claiming the top position among best-selling GPUs.
NVIDIA RTX 5070 Surpasses AMD RX 9070 XT in Amazon Sales Rankings
Just last week, AMD briefly secured the crown as the leading GPU vendor on Amazon in the United States. The RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 models dominated the sales charts. However, this lead was short-lived, primarily due to ongoing accessibility issues. While the RX 9070 series enjoyed better availability compared to NVIDIA’s offerings, the overwhelming demand has proven difficult to satisfy.
It’s worth noting that NVIDIA released the GeForce RTX 5070 only a day prior to AMD’s RX 9070 series launch. Initially, tracking its availability was challenging due to limited stock. Nevertheless, just a week later, the RTX 5070 has managed to dethrone the RX 9070 XT, securing the number one position in sales.
The ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7 OC edition currently holds the top spot, although its remarkable popularity means it is often out of stock. Following closely, the ASUS SFF-Ready Prime GeForce RTX 5070 OC edition ranks seventh.
Interestingly, the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5080 16GB OC edition has climbed to the eighth position, while the top ten is devoid of any RX 9070 XT or RX 9070 models. The highest rank achieved by an RX 9070 XT is eleventh, courtesy of PowerColor’s Reaper RX 9070 XT edition, which is also scarce. Several RTX models, including the RTX 4060, RTX 3060, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5080 can be found in the list, demonstrating NVIDIA’s strong presence.
On the AMD side, the RX 7000 series, which includes models like the RX 7600 XT, RX 7800 XT, and RX 7900 XTX, remains popular. While the RX 9070 series has yet to gain traction in the best-selling lists, anticipated improvements in availability and price stabilization could soon shift market dynamics.
The GeForce RTX 5070 debuted at a price of $549 and features 12 GB of GDDR7 memory. Although it lags slightly behind the RX 9070 in rasterization performance and has 4 GB less VRAM, NVIDIA’s historical sales trends indicate that their cards are likely to perform better in sales, especially when the price gap with AMD rivals is minimal.
