NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Price Drops Below MSRP in Japan: Palit RTX 5070 Infinity Available for $733

In Japan, the prices for GPUs typically surpass those in North America; however, one retailer has broken this trend by listing an RTX 5070 edition at a price lower than its recommended retail value (MSRP).

It has become increasingly rare to find GPUs priced at MSRP, particularly for popular series like the RTX 50 and RX 9000. Astonishingly, a Japanese retailer has bucked this trend, reducing the price of the RTX 5070 by around 3, 200 Yen from its MSRP.

To understand this context, the GeForce RTX 5070 debuted with a price tag of $549 in the United States. However, due to added value-added tax (VAT) and other market factors, its price rises significantly in regions like Japan. In this market, the RTX 5070 launched at 108, 800 Yen, approximately equivalent to $753 USD at the current exchange rate.

With these figures in mind, it is reasonable to expect the RTX 5070 to be priced at $753 or more, particularly for premium models. However, “Computer Workshop“listed a Gigabyte RTX 5070 Windforce SFF 12G edition for 108, 801 Yen. Conversely, “Dospara“has notably priced the Palit RTX 5070 Infinity 3 at just 105, 600 Yen, translating to approximately $733.

While a $20 discount may appear modest, it represents a meaningful saving for consumers who are accustomed to paying above MSRP. Considering that the RTX 5070 often retails for as high as 130, 000 Yen, equating to about $900 USD, this new price of $733 could be viewed as a more attractive option for Japanese buyers.

Nonetheless, other higher-end RTX 50 series models, including the RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090, have yet to experience similar discounts. Indeed, these models rarely even appear at their official MSRP, let alone below that price point.

As the GPU market evolves, NVIDIA is preparing to introduce its RTX 5060 series, with the RTX 5060 Ti anticipated to launch next week. Reports suggest that this new series will maintain the price levels established by previous generations.
