In recent developments, prices for nearly all RTX 50 series graphics cards have been experiencing a rapid decline, with the GeForce RTX 5070 marking the latest instance of this trend. Recent reports indicate that the GPU is now offered at prices that undercut its Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) in Japan.
Pricing Update: Gainward GeForce RTX 5070 Python III Now 18% Below MSRP in Japan
Earlier coverage discussed significant price reductions for higher-end models like the GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti. Now, the spotlight shifts to the RTX 5070, which was originally launched at $549. In non-North American markets such as the EU and EMEA, prices are typically higher. In Japan, the card initially retailed for 108, 800 Yen, roughly translating to $747 based on current exchange rates.
This launch price puts it on par with the RTX 5070 Ti in regions outside of North America. However, due to limited availability, units were hard to come by at that price. Fortunately, recent inventory fluctuations have led to significant price drops, as highlighted by Gazlog. A custom edition of the RTX 5070 is now available for around 20, 000 Yen less than its MSRP.

The Gainward GeForce RTX 5070 Python III is currently listed at 89, 980 Yen via PC Koubou, equating to about $618. This represents the lowest price since its launch, making it competitive with RTX 5070 listings from major North American retailers. While GPU availability on Amazon Japan remains limited, the MSI RTX 5070 Ventus 2X OC could still be found on TSUKUMO for 99, 800 Yen, which is notably 10, 000 Yen below its MSRP.

Compared to the pricing from the previous month, the RTX 5070 has observed a marked decline. This trend isn’t isolated to Japan; similar price cuts are being reported in North America and Europe. Currently, consumers can find the RTX 5070 listed around $600 with favorable availability on Amazon, and Newegg also features multiple RTX 5070 models at that price point.

Price trends on Geizhals indicate that certain RTX 5070 variants have fallen to around €560, which is approximately €110 below the initial launch price in Germany. If the current trend continues, it is likely that most RTX 5070 models will be accessible at or below MSRP in various regions within a week or two.
