The existence of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU has recently been confirmed through promotional materials linked to an upcoming LG laptop model. This revelation not only validates the GPU’s presence in NVIDIA’s lineup but also sheds light on some interesting specifications.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050: Anticipated Compatibility and Integration

During CES 2025, NVIDIA introduced its next generation of RTX 50 mobile GPUs, showcasing models such as the GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Ti. However, details regarding the more affordable 50-class and 60-class GPUs were notably absent. Recent insights from @BullsLab indicate that LG is gearing up to launch the 2025 Gram model, slated to feature the RTX 5050 GPU. Initially, this model will come equipped with the RTX 4050, with plans for an upgrade to the 5050 version at a later date.

It appears NVIDIA initially intended to unveil the RTX 5050 at CES 2025 but later revised its roadmap. Consequently, promotional mentions from LG suggest the availability of an RTX 5050 model in the future. The fact that both GPUs may share pin-to-pin compatibility could streamline the integration into LG’s products, facilitating an easier upgrade process.

Looking into the specifications, the upcoming GeForce RTX 5050 is expected to be equipped with 8GB of GDDR7 memory, relying on the new GB207 silicon architecture. Codenamed “GN22-X2,”this GPU is expected to enhance both performance and efficiency, a claim supported by recent leaks suggesting that the RTX 5060 will challenge the higher-end RTX 4070 model.

Currently, NVIDIA plans to roll out four models within the RTX 50 series mobile platform, with additional releases anticipated in the forthcoming months, indicating a growing variety in the mobile GPU market.
