NVIDIA has made a significant adjustment to its launch timeline for the GeForce RTX 5050 GPU, moving the date from the anticipated end of July to the new date of July 1st.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050: Projected Launch and Specifications Overview
Initially slated for release later this month, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 8 GB GPU will now debut on July 1st, according to notable reports from MEGAsizeGPU. This adjustment has raised eyebrows within the industry, as it implies that custom models from AIB partners will not be ready for distribution on launch day, potentially indicating a “paper launch” with actual product availability possibly delayed until mid to late July.
The GeForce RTX 5050 is aimed at the entry-level market, featuring a price range of approximately $199 to $249, strategically positioned just below the GeForce RTX 5060, which retails for $299. This new offering will face competition from Intel’s Arc series, particularly the Arc B580 (12 GB) priced at $219 and the Arc B570 (10 GB) at $249.
NVIDIA suddenly informed all AIC that the desktop RTX 5050’s launch date has been rescheduled to July 1st. The former launch date was the end of July. IDK why Nvidia made this award decision since no card can be shipped on July 1st.

Examining the technical specifications, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 will utilize the GB207 GPU, noted as the smallest in NVIDIA’s Blackwell series. This chip will be equipped with 2560 cores, identical to those found in both the RTX 3050 and RTX 4050. Additionally, it will be built on the PG152-SKU50 PCB and paired with 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM through a 128-bit bus interface. Recent insights suggest that NVIDIA is implementing 20 Gbps memory modules, resulting in a total memory bandwidth of 320 GB/s.
As this GPU targets the entry-level sector, it’s expected that NVIDIA’s AIB partners will offer various custom-made models at launch. However, a Founders Edition version is not anticipated. The reference PCB design is likely to incorporate a robust 5-phase VRM setup, ensuring efficient power delivery. In the coming months, more information about the RTX 5050 will become available, especially examining consumer reactions to yet another entry-level 8 GB offering.
