NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 8 GB: Comparing Benchmarks Against the RTX 4060
Following its launch, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 8 GB is now available in retail, yet detailed reviews or comprehensive benchmarks have yet to emerge beyond the manufacturer’s initial disclosures. ZOTAC has provided valuable test results, offering gamers a glimpse into the capabilities of this entry-level graphics card that retails for approximately $249 USD.

The performance data shared includes both synthetic and gaming metrics. In synthetic tests, the RTX 5050 generally matches or slightly exceeds the RTX 4060, demonstrating a competitive edge in several benchmarks. It outperforms the RTX 4060 in the Steel Nomad, Port Royal, and Fire Strike tests, but lags behind in the Speed Way and Time Spy assessments.

When examining gaming performance, ZOTAC’s benchmarks involved four popular titles: Borderlands 3, Far Cry 6, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The RTX 5050 demonstrated performance increases of up to 18.5% over the RTX 3060, although it generally fell slightly behind the RTX 4060 in most scenarios. In Far Cry 6, both GPUs performed similarly, while the 5050 struggled to keep pace in the other three titles.

As of now, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB is priced between $299 and $329, making it comparably priced with the forthcoming RTX 5060 8 GB model. For an additional $50 USD, the 5060 8 GB is likely a more advantageous investment. Furthermore, budget-conscious gamers might explore alternatives such as the RX 9060 XT 8 GB or Intel’s Arc B580 12 GB and B570 10 GB offerings within the sub-$250 range.
