The latest Steam Hardware Survey has unveiled exciting news for gamers: the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series of graphics cards is making significant inroads in the market. These GPUs are rapidly gaining traction, as indicated by their incremental rise in user share, particularly with the RTX 5070 now boasting a 1% market share since its introduction.
Growing Popularity Among Gamers
The launch of NVIDIA’s RTX 50 GPUs officially commenced in January, with a wider availability occurring in February. Although the initial signs of these GPUs appeared in the Steam Hardware Survey back in May, recent data reflects a more comprehensive presence, with all models listed except for the RTX 5050, which is anticipated to launch later this month.

According to the June 2025 statistics, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 3060 GPUs maintain their positions as the most popular options among users, with the RTX 4060 Laptop GPU hitting a notable share of 4.99%.This popularity highlights the demand for budget-friendly and mainstream gaming laptops equipped with these GPUs.
Triumphant RTX 50 Series Performance
Diving deeper into the performance of the RTX 50 series, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 has made a remarkable leap to secure nearly 1% of the total user share within just three months of its availability. This figure represents a solid +0.28% increase in share since last month. Clearly, this GPU is emerging as an attractive option for gamers seeking to upgrade their systems. Other notable models include the RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5060, and the RTX 5090.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 GPU Share Breakdown (June 2025)

Interestingly, the AMD Radeon RX 9000 “RDNA 4″GPUs have yet to appear in the Steam Hardware Survey results. This absence doesn’t necessarily indicate a lack of sales; rather, it suggests that these models have not yet reached sufficient volumes for reporting. Similarly, although Intel’s Arc B-series GPUs are experiencing similar challenges, NVIDIA continues to dominate the market with more than 90% share, while AMD and Intel linger in single-digit figures.

CPU Market Trends: AMD and Intel Comparison
On the CPU front, AMD has been gradually increasing its share, now standing at 39.65%, against Intel’s 60.27%.The widespread popularity of AMD’s Ryzen processor lineup has significantly contributed to this upward trend. Compounding Intel’s challenges, recent performance issues with their 13th and 14th Generation CPUs, accompanied by underwhelming results from the Arrow Lake series, have further restricted their market presence.
