NVIDIA is set to unveil its highly anticipated GeForce RTX 50 GPUs, which are expected to incorporate support for DLSS 4 technology. In an exciting development, an ASUS variant of the RTX 5080 has recently surfaced in a European retail listing.
NVIDIA’s Upcoming Launch of RTX 50 GPUs with DLSS 4 Support: ASUS RTX 5080 Price Revealed
With merely three days remaining until the official launch of the NVIDIA RTX 50 series, an initial price tag has emerged. The ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 AIB edition was sighted at a European retailer with a listed price of €1,699, which includes a 20% VAT (reference via @GawroskiT). According to the image shared, this variant is confirmed as an ASUS edition, which typically commands a higher price than the Founders Edition (FE) cards. Consequently, it’s anticipated that the FE card will be offered at a lower retail price.
When converted to USD, this figure amounts to approximately $1,748 with the 20% VAT applied in Europe. Excluding VAT, the cost drops to about $1,456. After accounting for additional ASUS charges, estimated between 100 to 200 Euros, we arrive at an approximate market price of US$1,349 for North America.
Regarding the Founders Edition, forecasts suggest it will be priced somewhere between $1,200 and $1,300. While earlier rumors hinted that the GPU might exceed the $1,500 mark, this latest information indicates a more competitive pricing strategy. It’s essential to note that some prior leaks pertained to international markets, where GPUs often incur heavier taxes.
Notably, the best-case scenario for the GeForce RTX 5080’s MSRP stands at $1,200. This price point aligns closely with the initial launch price of the RTX 4080, which faced criticism for its high cost. To address sales concerns, NVIDIA later introduced the Super Edition of the 4080 at a $200 discount. Whether the RTX 5080’s pricing will entice buyers remains uncertain, yet significant performance improvements over previous models could favor NVIDIA’s market strategy.
In addition to the GPU pricing details, the leaks also reveal NVIDIA’s intention to launch DLSS 4.0, the successor to DLSS 3.5, aiming for enhanced upscaling capabilities and overall performance. Notably, leaker @Kopite7Kimi has confirmed the arrival of DLSS 4. Although specific details about DLSS 4.0 remain scant, its introduction coincides with AMD’s anticipated launch of FSR 4 alongside RDNA 4 GPUs, suggesting a robust competitive landscape for advanced graphical technologies.

Speculation about the RTX 5080 suggests it will feature an impressive 10,752 CUDA cores, 16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a total design power (TDP) of 360 watts. This card is expected to showcase the fastest GDDR7 memory at a remarkable 30 Gbps, while other models in the lineup will offer memory speeds of 28 Gbps. NVIDIA is reportedly scheduled to launch the RTX 5080 on January 6, ahead of the RTX 5090, with retail availability anticipated by January 21.
