
NVIDIA has made a significant move into the burgeoning “AI PC”market with the impending launch of its innovative consumer-oriented AI supercomputer, the DGX Spark.
Introducing the DGX Spark: Unleashing 1, 000 TOPS of AI Power
Traditionally, NVIDIA has concentrated its efforts on larger-scale AI applications, such as those in data centers and clustered environments. However, this time, the company is stepping into the realm of individual consumers with a compact supercomputer tailored for users seeking powerful AI capabilities. While an official launch date for the DGX Spark has yet to be announced, reports from Taiwan Economic Daily suggest a possible release by July, with major companies like Gigabyte and ASUS preparing to ship these devices globally.
The DGX Spark stands out as NVIDIA’s most compact AI solution to date, achieving staggering performance levels in a small form factor. Although detailed specifications are still under wraps, it’s been confirmed that the device integrates the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, which features NVIDIA’s advanced Blackwell GPU. This powerful GPU is equipped with cutting-edge fifth-generation Tensor Cores and supports FP4, enabling the supercomputer to achieve an impressive 1, 000 trillion operations per second—perfect for AI fine-tuning and inference tasks.

Utilizing NVIDIA’s NVLink-C2C interconnect technology, the GB10 Superchip provides a CPU+GPU-coherent memory model that boasts five times the bandwidth of fifth-generation PCIe. This remarkable functionality enables the DGX Spark to deliver a colossal 1, 000 TOPS of AI power, a feat made possible through innovative engineering and architecture. Additionally, the partnership with AIBs (Add-in Board partners) allows for the customization of the DGX Spark, with MSI and Gigabyte leading the charge.
During our recent attendance at Computex 2025, several manufacturers displayed their unique versions of the DGX Spark, primarily distinguished by their design choices. Notably, MSI’s variant, named EdgeXpert MS-C931, is equipped with 128 GB LPDDR5X and features a minimalist black and grey aesthetic along with HDMI and Connect-X ports, optimizing multi-connectivity options. While this design may appeal more to professional consumers, it will be intriguing to observe its performance in gaming contexts.

Another notable contender is Gigabyte’s AI TOP ATOM, which represents the company’s interpretation of the DGX Spark. Its design bears a resemblance to MSI’s model, but Gigabyte showcased some internal components, including Micron’s LPDDR5X memory chips. The company claims that their AI TOP ATOM supercomputer can handle up to 70 billion parameters, and when using two ATOM systems in tandem through NVIDIA Connect-X, the capacity rises to an astounding 405 billion parameters for advanced AI training.
