NVIDIA’s CEO Informs TSMC of Potential Revenue Sharing with Trump Administration
In recent weeks, President Trump proposed a controversial deal targeting American chip manufacturers, mandating companies like NVIDIA and AMD to remit 15% of their revenue on semiconductor sales to China. While an official agreement has yet to be established, indications are that the administration seeks to exert significant control over domestic tech firms. According to a report by Taiwanese news outlet CNA, Jensen Huang’s visit was to alert TSMC about potential revenue-sharing arrangements as part of this emerging initiative.
The report asserts that Huang’s unexpected presence in Taiwan was meant to inform TSMC about the need to engage in a cooperative deal with the U. S.government, enabling the sale of AI chips to the Chinese market.
