A Relaxed Visit to South Korea Following Major Keynote

This week has been extraordinary for Huang, having just delivered a pivotal keynote at GTC 2025. Following this, he traveled to South Korea, where he held discussions with Samsung’s Chairman, Lee Jae-yong, and Chung Eui-sun, the President of Hyundai Motors. Among the more informal highlights of his trip were moments spent indulging in Korean fried chicken and enjoying drinks with executive associates at a local dining establishment, embodying a personable side of NVIDIA’s leadership.

The APEC summit serves as a vital platform for international business dialogue, uniting influential figures from diverse regions. This year, the summit also facilitated the prominent meeting between Trump and Xi, prompting Huang to travel directly from Washington to lend support to the American delegation. On a more casual note, he engaged with the public during his visit, where attendees celebrated their stock market successes fueled by NVIDIA’s remarkable $5 trillion valuation.

Recently, the relationship between NVIDIA and Samsung has been strengthening, highlighted by Samsung’s achievement of the crucial HBM3E certification from NVIDIA. This partnership is set to evolve further, particularly as Samsung Foundry has now joined NVIDIA’s NVLink ecosystem, a move that marks a significant collaborative effort between the two giants, along with Intel. There are also exciting rumors hinting at a potentially monumental partnership on the horizon.

As the demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) grows, NVIDIA’s focus on expanding its supply chain becomes increasingly apparent. Samsung is positioned to become a key player in this evolving AI supply chain, contributing not only in terms of DRAM but also in semiconductor technology.
