NVIDIA has rolled out a significant update to its app, enhancing the support for DLSS presets and introducing custom scaling options. This update provides users with increased flexibility in their gaming experiences.
Enhanced DLSS Support and Custom Resolution Scaling in the NVIDIA App
The newest version of the NVIDIA App now includes comprehensive support for all DLSS preset options, extending beyond the previous limitations. Previously, the DLSS Override feature only offered access to either DLAA or the “Ultra Performance”preset of DLSS Super Resolution. However, users can now select from the complete range of DLSS Super Resolution presets—Performance, Balanced, and Quality. This extension allows gamers to enjoy AI-enhanced visuals even in titles lacking native DLSS integration.

This enhancement is particularly beneficial for gamers who have previously faced limitations with just the two available presets. While DLAA typically offers superior visual fidelity compared to the game’s native graphics, it does come with decreased performance. Conversely, the Ultra Performance mode may compromise visual quality. The addition of more presets empowers users to choose settings that best suit their preferences and hardware capabilities.
Furthermore, the latest update introduces custom resolution scaling for DLSS Super Resolution. Users can now adjust the scaling from 33% to 100%, where 100% equates to DLAA and 33% corresponds to Ultra Performance mode. This feature enables gamers to finely tune their performance and image quality for any overridden games, enhancing the overall experience.
Alongside the availability of Project G-Assist, this week’s NVIDIA app update includes several notable enhancements. The expanded functionality of DLSS overrides allows players to customize image quality or boost performance settings. This update is available to users with the GeForce Game Ready Driver or NVIDIA Studio Driver version 572.83 WHQL or newer.
Previously limited to activating DLAA or Ultra Performance mode in unsupported games, users can now enable any DLSS preset and customize resolution scaling in their settings.

Lastly, the update repositions the Display Scaling and Display Color settings from the Control Panel App to the modern NVIDIA App interface, maintaining the same tuning options but in a more user-friendly format. This move signifies NVIDIA’s commitment to improving user experience across its suite of applications.
