NVIDIA has made headlines with its unexpected alliance with Nokia, aimed at harnessing 6G connectivity through innovative AI-RAN products, which will feature Grace CPUs and Blackwell GPUs.
NVIDIA and Nokia: Pioneering the Future of 6G Connectivity
With rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, NVIDIA has successfully integrated AI into a multitude of industries, and now, it turns its focus to telecommunications. During the GTC 2025 keynote, NVIDIA’s CEO unveiled a groundbreaking partnership with Nokia. This collaboration signifies their commitment to achieving 6G connectivity, leveraging a fresh suite of AI-RAN products alongside Nokia’s formidable telecommunications infrastructure. To strengthen this partnership, NVIDIA plans to invest $1 billion in Nokia, acquiring shares at a valuation of $6.01 each.
The partnership marks the beginning of the AI-native wireless era, providing the foundation to support AI-powered consumer experiences and enterprise services at the edge. Together, NVIDIA and Nokia are also laying the strategic infrastructure and opening up a new high-growth frontier for telecom providers by delivering distributed edge AI inferencing at scale.
NVIDIA’s new product line, aptly named ARC (Aerial RAN Computer), is designed specifically for this initiative. This platform is engineered for 6G computing and embeds RAN software into the CUDA technology stack, facilitating extraordinary performance enhancements. CEO Jensen Huang confirmed that ARC will incorporate Grace CPUs and Blackwell GPUs, enabling telecom infrastructure to leverage unprecedented performance potential. The ARC ecosystem will be seamlessly integrated with Nokia’s current RAN infrastructure, easing the transition for clients moving toward 6G technology.

Nokia will accelerate the availability of its 5G and 6G RAN software on the NVIDIA CUDA® platform and expand its RAN portfolio by embedding NVIDIA ARC-Pro at the heart of the new AI-RAN solution. This partnership will enable Nokia’s mobile network customers to transition seamlessly from today’s RAN networks to future AI-RAN networks.
Looking ahead, NVIDIA has indicated that T-Mobile will commence “field tests”of the AI-RAN technologies in 2026. This marks a significant step towards pioneering 6G innovations in the United States, heralding a new era of connectivity.
