As Hyper Light Breaker continues to evolve in its Early Access phase, players are presented with a unique landscape featuring a limited number of bosses—currently outnumbered by the available characters. Despite the small roster, the existing bosses offer intense challenges that are both engaging and formidable. Players willing to delve deeper can uncover valuable insights about these impressive adversaries.
Defeating these bosses, known as Crown Bosses, is crucial for character progression in the game. For every Crown Boss defeated, players earn an Abyss Stone, empowering them to experiment with new characters and gameplay mechanics. Thus, mastering the mechanics and strategies for these Crown Bosses is essential for advancement in the game.

The Two Bosses In Hyper Light Breaker’s Early Access
The Only Crown Bosses Players Can Currently Face
In the current version of Hyper Light Breaker, players will encounter two Crown Bosses: Dro and Exus. The selection of the boss is random upon entering a Crown Boss arena, providing players with unpredictability and excitement in their encounters. Exus, a massive warrior, wields the power of flames, using charge attacks and powerful ground slams to overwhelm his opponents.
Dro presents a different challenge altogether. This wolf-like creature, donning a blindfold, moves with remarkable speed and unpredictability, making her a formidable foe in close combat. Players can expect a tough battle against either of these Crown Bosses, as both possess unique and challenging combat abilities.

How To Face & Find The Crown Bosses
To confront the ultimate challenge of Abyss King, players must first face the Crown Bosses. As of now, the final boss is not present in the game, but each Cycle offers players the chance to battle three Crown Bosses—albeit only Dro and Exus for the time being.
Players are not granted immediate access to these Crown Bosses. Initially, they must collect prisms, achieved by defeating mini-bosses scattered throughout the game world. Each Cycle includes six mini-bosses, typically enhanced versions of regular enemies, presenting additional dangers. Successfully beating a mini-boss can significantly aid in healing, an essential aspect of survival in Hyper Light Breaker.
Players unlock Crown Bosses by collecting prisms; two prisms will allow access to the first boss, four for the second, and six for the last. Once sufficient prisms are gathered, players can challenge the Crown Bosses. A successful battle rewards them with an Abyss Stone, various rewards, and the opportunity to reach the Extraction Point. If defeated, players have the chance to retry provided they have Resurrects available, or else they must restart in the next Cycle.
Upon defeating the last available Crown Boss, players will see a message indicating that the Abyss King will arrive soon. Traditionally, this encounter would signify the culmination of a Cycle, but for now, it serves as a teaser for future content.

What Is Known About The Future Of Crown Bosses
Watch the Early Access Trailer
While no specific timeline has been confirmed, Heart Machine hinted in their Early Access trailer that additional Crown Bosses will be introduced over time. Details remain vague, but the active development team seems committed to expanding the boss roster.
Players can look forward to engaging more bosses in the near future—be it weeks, months, or sometime next year. Notably, there exists a potential new foe, the Last Master, who appears on the map when the Death Meter reaches its midpoint, marking a period of heightened danger. Caution is advised, as the Last Master can pursue players right up to the Extraction Point if they attempt to flee.
For now, these two Crown Bosses are all that players can expect in Hyper Light Breaker, but exciting developments are on the horizon.
