Studio Ghibli is shooting another film. Its founder returns after retirement to pursue a new project.
Traditionally, Hayao Miyazaki resumes his career and creates a new film for Studio Ghibli. The play will be based on Genzaburo Yoshino’s novel How Are You Living? The story of a 15-year-old boy who has to face the death of his father.
Studio Ghibli has already produced many popular full-length anime. Among the most famous are games like Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away: In the Land of Gods or Howl’s Moving Castle. All of this was filmed by Hayao Miyazaki.
Hayao Miyazaki ended his directing career several times, but always returned to work on new projects. One of his most recent works is The Wind Breaking in 2013. A year later, the production was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Animated Film category. Although she didn’t win in the end (the statuette was awarded to Iceland), Miyazaki is still a two-time Oscar winner. He has already won awards for Howl’s Moving Castle and Spirited Away: In the Land of the Gods.
