This year, Novak Djokovic spent Easter with his family, wife Jelena and children Stefan and Tara. Additionally, the Serb extended his Easter wishes to his fans all around the globe.
Despite being in the midst of the busy clay season, Djokovic made the decision to withdraw from the Miami Open in order to prioritize spending time with his family. The Serb emphasized the importance of balancing his personal and professional life at this stage, and expressed his desire to take a break from the hectic schedule of being on court to be with his loved ones.
Despite his usual success, the 36-year-old has had a relatively subdued 2024 season. He has not been able to secure a single title so far. At the start of the year, he represented Team Serbia at the United Cup but unfortunately, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Team Australia.
Despite being the top seed, the World No. 1 was unable to maintain his dominance at the Australian Open, his strongest Major. After breezing through the early rounds, he was unexpectedly defeated by eventual champion Jannik Sinner in the semifinals. Following a five-year absence, the Serb also made a return to the Indian Wells Masters, only to suffer another upset at the hands of the young Italian, Luca Nardi, in the third round.
As he gears up for the upcoming clay season, which will be followed by the Wimbledon and Paris Olympics, the Serb is implementing changes within his team. This includes parting ways with his long-time coach, Goran Ivanisevic, who helped him win 24 major championships.
The top-ranked player in the world, who is known for valuing his family, celebrated Easter with his loved ones – his wife Jelena and children Stefan and Tara. He shared a family selfie on Instagram and extended his Easter greetings to his fans around the globe.
Rafael Nadal to aim for 12th French Open title in 2019
Despite a disappointing start to the season, Novak Djokovic remains determined and will shift his attention towards the upcoming clay season. As the majority of his 2,315 points were earned at the French Open, the Serb will have a lot to defend during this season.
Despite facing early exits at the Monte Carlo Masters and Srpska Open in the previous year, withdrawing from the Madrid Masters, and only managing a decent quarterfinal run at the Rome Open, the Serb redeemed himself with an exceptional performance at the Roland Garros.
Novak Djokovic has been listed as a participant for the 2024 Monte Carlo Masters, where he will be accompanied by top players such as Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal.
