The GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua OC, one of the most sought-after variations within the RTX 5080 lineup, is priced at an impressive $2300. This remarkable graphics card represents a collaboration between ASUS and Noctua, featuring an expansive heatsink complemented by multiple heat pipes and high-performance Noctua NF-A12 fans. As a result, it occupies a considerable quad-slot footprint. Launched at the start of this month, it can currently be found on prominent Chinese e-commerce platforms, including JD.

Many enthusiasts have wondered about the absence of an RTX 5090 Edition. As reported by KitGuru, Noctua has expressed a clear interest in producing an RTX 5090 Noctua Edition. However, the realization of this model is hindered by a pressing shortage of GPU chips.

The anticipated GeForce RTX 5090 will reportedly utilize the Blackwell GB202 chip, which is also integrated into select Blackwell AI workstation GPUs. This same chip powers high-end workstation cards like the RTX PRO 6000, a testament to the substantial demand in the market. Additionally, the RTX 5090 boasts robust AI capabilities, leading to instances where the GPU has been unlawfully exported to China for conversion into specialized AI units.

Despite the challenges, Noctua remains optimistic and is not abandoning its ambition to create a customized RTX 5090 Noctua Edition. They have articulated their desire to “love to do a 5090″when the circumstances allow. For now, users interested in Noctua’s offerings will have to settle for the RTX 5080 Noctua OC, which is notably priced at double that of the standard Founders editions. If Noctua succeeds in producing the RTX 5090 variations in the future, the price is expected to be considerably high, potentially starting at $3000 and possibly soaring above $3500, even if RTX 5090 availability begins to stabilize.
