No Man’s Sky: Discover Spooky New Content in The Cursed Update

The interstellar survival game No Man’s Sky is embracing a spooky theme with its latest expedition update. Coinciding with the Halloween festivities, developer Hello Games has unveiled details about their complimentary update, titled The Cursed.

In a recent blog post, the developers describe The Cursed update as occurring within a “twilight realm.”In this eerie setting, players are unable to warp their ships between star systems and must instead navigate using an ancient network of portals to reach their destinations. Hello Games elaborated:

In standard gameplay of No Man’s Sky, Travelers face numerous environmental challenges, including extreme weather, radiation, and toxic atmospheres. However, The Cursed introduces a singular, more treacherous foe: the erosion of reality itself. Your suit is equipped with a unique Anomaly Suppressor; keeping it functioning is essential for remaining in this reality intact.

The Anomaly Suppressor serves as a safeguard against the bizarre extraterrestrial “spectral anomalies”that may pursue you. If the Suppressor’s power diminishes, these anomalies could launch attacks on your character.

Players will also have the opportunity to earn various in-game rewards during The Cursed update, which includes a unique spacecraft called the Boundary Herald, designed with a nostalgic flying saucer aesthetic. This seasonal event will be available for approximately two weeks within the game.

Additionally, Hello Games briefly mentioned their ongoing development of another major title, Light No Fire. This upcoming game, announced in December 2023 during the Game Awards, promises to showcase a fantastical version of Earth that aims to be a “truly open world, with no limits, at an unprecedented scale.”Further details about Light No Fire have not yet been disclosed since its initial announcement.
