No Gain No Love Episode 9-10 Recap: Son Hae-young Discovers Shocking Secrets About Kim Ji-uk as Nam Ja-yeon & Bok Gyu-hyun Experience Their First and Last Date

No Gain No Love, featuring an impressive cast including Shin Min-ah, Kim Young-dae, Lee Sang-yi, and Han Ji-hyun, released its episodes 9 and 10 on tvN and Prime Video on September 23 and 24, 2024. Episode 9 kicked off with Bok Gyu-hyun (Lee Sang-yi) and Yeo Ha-jun (Lee You-jin) completing community service at the orphanage.

Nam Ja-yeon (Han Ji-hyun) also made an appearance at the orphanage to check in on Bok Gyu-hyun. During their conversation, she unintentionally put him on the spot by asking if he liked her, to which he confessed. However, she retorted that, much like in her novels, even if two main characters have feelings for each other, they might not end up together.

Bok Gyu-hyun, believing that Nam Ja-yeon reciprocated his feelings, followed her out of the orphanage. They encountered Yeo Ha-jun, and it was during this moment that Bok Gyu-hyun discovered Nam Ja-yeon was actually the writer Yeon Bo-ra.

After dropping Nam Ja-yeon at Son Hae-young’s (Shin Min-ah) house, Bok Gyu-hyun received a shocking call revealing that Kim Ji-uk (Kim Young-dae) was Bok Gi-ho’s (Choi Jin-ho) illegitimate child. In a fit of rage, he stormed into Son Hae-young’s house and decided to fire not only Kim Ji-uk but also Son Hae-young, who was completely unaware of the family drama.

In the latest developments in No Gain No Love, Son Hae-young learned the startling truth about Kim Ji-uk: he had lived for a time at her mother’s foster home and had known her throughout their fake marriage without ever mentioning it.

No Gain No Love Episode 9-10 Recap: Son Hae-young Unleashes Fury as She Confronts Bok Gyu-hyun, Kicking Kim Ji-uk & Nam Ja-yeon Out

In episode 9 of No Gain No Love, Son Hae-young was incredulous about her firing, adamant that her contributions to the company would protect her job. However, upon arriving at Kkulbee Education with Kim Ji-uk, they were informed that she was officially removed from her role as team leader, and Kim Ji-uk had been suspended.

To mitigate further harm to Son Hae-young, Kim Ji-uk fabricated a story in front of their colleagues, claiming they were divorced. This shocking news quickly spread, astonishing everyone as it had only been a few months since they tied the knot.

Bok Gyu-hyun summoned Kim Ji-uk to his office, confronting him about the lie and issuing a dire warning: he must leave both the company and the country if he wished to protect Son Hae-young and his own mother. However, Bok Gyu-hyun later regretted the confrontation, feeling pressured by his mother, Seon Jeong-a (Lee Il-hwa).

Meanwhile, Nam Ja-yeon contemplated moving out of Son Hae-young’s house, fearing her abusive father could return and threaten Son Hae-young. She ran into Yeo Ha-jun, who confessed to writing part of the hate comments under her novel due to his jealousy over Bok Gyu-hyun. Later that night, when Nam Ja-yeon spotted a shadowy figure, she assumed it was her father, only to realize it was Bok Gyu-hyun.

By the conclusion of episode 9, Son Hae-young, coming back from a business trip with Kim Ji-uk, discovered that Nam Ja-yeon’s father was paroled. In a panic, she rushed home and saw a man embracing Nam Ja-yeon. Mistaking him for her father, she was relieved to find it was actually Bok Gyu-hyun.

In episode 10 of No Gain No Love, Son Hae-young learned that Bok Gyu-hyun was the anti-fan Nam Ja-yeon had sued and that he harbored romantic feelings for her. Furious at the state of affairs, she attempted to strike Bok Gyu-hyun with an umbrella. Simultaneously, Nam Ja-yeon revealed that she reciprocated his feelings, but it seemed too late as Kim Ji-uk took the brunt of her frustration.

Her anger escalated as she worried for Nam Ja-yeon’s well-being and disapproved of any potential relationship with Bok Gyu-hyun. Son Hae-young asserted that Nam Ja-yeon was too good for him, to which Nam Ja-yeon countered that it was impossible for them to be together even with Son Hae-young’s approval.

The following morning, Bok Gyu-hyun unexpectedly joined them for breakfast, inadvertently revealing that Nam Ja-yeon planned to move out while Kim Ji-uk intended to leave the country permanently. Son Hae-young insisted that if they truly wished to depart, they should do so immediately. Known for her fiery temperament and grudges, Nam Ja-yeon and Kim Ji-uk hastily left the room.

Later, in episode 10 of No Gain No Love, Kim Ji-uk initially decided not to go but wanted to know Son Hae-young’s opinion. She feigned indifference, claiming she would not stop him if he felt compelled to leave.

It appeared Kim Ji-uk had departed, but he returned to find Son Hae-young sobbing and cursing him, prompting her to remind him that his mother never loved him. Despite this, he was determined to leave for his mother’s sake and to honor his grandmother’s wish.

During an emotional confrontation, Kim Ji-uk declared that Son Hae-young had never confessed to loving him, only to confess his love for her. The two then shared a kiss, affirming he would not leave her side. Meanwhile, Nam Ja-yeon and Bok Gyu-hyun visited Kkulbee Education to gather inspiration for her novel.

As they reenacted a scene from the web novel in his office, they shared a light moment, with Bok Gyu-hyun mentioning that fans wanted the characters to kiss after that scene. They ended up sharing a kiss, even though it wasn’t part of the story. However, Nam Ja-yeon reminded him that they could not pursue a relationship, marking it as their first and last date.

By the conclusion of episode 10 of No Gain No Love, Son Hae-young discovered that Kim Ji-uk had spent time at her mother’s foster home. She demanded Kim Ji-uk to leave as he made her feel ill. The future of the characters remains uncertain as events unfold in No Gain No Love.

No Gain No Love airs every Monday and Tuesday on tvN and is also available on Prime Video.
