NMIXX Breaks New Ground in K-Pop History
NMIXX has achieved a historic milestone as the first K-pop girl group to be featured on the official NPR Music YouTube channel with their performance on “Tiny Desk Korea.”This landmark event showcases the growing influence of K-pop on a global scale and highlights the genre’s unique appeal.

The much-anticipated “Tiny Desk Korea”video was released in September 2024, with a wider audience reaching through the main channel on January 5, 2025. The performance spotlights all six members: Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, BAE, Jiwoo, and Kyujin, who captivated viewers with their artistic rendition.
A Unique Concert Experience
“Tiny Desk Korea”serves as a localized adaptation of NPR’s acclaimed “Tiny Desk Concert”series, providing a platform for authentic live music performances by Korean artists. This format emphasizes organic sound without post-production editing or mixing, showcasing the genuine talent of the performers.
“This is exciting,”stated HAEWON, the group’s leader and main vocalist, during the performance. “It’s our first time singing without in-ear monitors. We can feel the vibe of this place.”
Setlist and Musical Arrangement
During their Tiny Desk performance, NMIXX delivered an impressive lineup of five tracks that included:
- “Love Me Like This”
- “DASH”
- “Run For Roses”
- “See that? (See that?)”
- “Love Is Lonely”
Their captivating sound was further enhanced by a live band featuring a range of instruments, including saxophone, bass, drums, keyboard, melodica, castanets, tambourine, and glockenspiel.
A Series of Achievements
This achievement adds to a series of significant milestones for NMIXX. In October 2024, the group became the first K-pop act to take part in Billboard’s Latin Music Week. During the event, members Haewon and Bae engaged in a panel discussion titled “K-pop Goes Latin with NMIXX,”where they showcased a performance of one of their tracks in Spanish. This initiative illustrates the cross-cultural appeal of K-pop, expanding its reach into various musical genres.
