Nioh 3: Gameplay Enhancements and Performance Upgrades Announced
Upcoming action RPG, Nioh 3, is set to incorporate a host of gameplay, balance, and performance enhancements inspired by the alpha demo released exclusively for PlayStation 5 earlier this June.
Alpha Demo Feedback Report Revealed
In a recent update, Team NINJA and Koei Tecmo shared an Alpha Demo Feedback Report on the game’s official website. This report outlines insights garnered from player surveys conducted post-demo play, highlighting critical adjustments that will be implemented prior to the official launch. Key improvements include:
- Enhancements to control responsiveness
- Introduction of customizable options
- Rebalancing challenging enemy encounters
- Upgraded environmental quality
- Increased visibility in various stages
- Better optimized open-world exploration elements
Planned Improvements for a Better Experience
Team NINJA has specified further details regarding the improvements. These will include:
- Refinements to Global Illumination for enhanced stage visuals
- Reduction of fog in specific areas to improve clarity
- Adjustments to matte texture effects for a more polished appearance
- Optimization for a smoother and more stable frame rate
While the emphasis on performance is promising, it would have been beneficial to gather feedback from PC players as well. Unfortunately, the likelihood of an alpha demo being released for PC appears low.
Nioh 3: A New Chapter in the Franchise
Announced during the traditional PlayStation State of Play event in June, Nioh 3 aims to distinguish itself within the franchise. While it may seem visually similar to prior titles, players can look forward to a new Ninja fighting style that allows for quick switching during combat along with an overhauled level design. These innovations hint at an exciting evolution of the series, combining the stamina-based combat characteristic of Soulslike games with an intricate loot system, reminiscent of classic action gameplay.
Release Date
Nioh 3 is scheduled for release in early 2026 on both PC and PlayStation 5.
