Nintendo Announces Upcoming Price Increases for Gaming Hardware in the U. S.
Nintendo is set to join the growing list of gaming titans implementing price hikes on their hardware, following a similar move by Microsoft with the Xbox series. In an official announcement today, Nintendo of America revealed that prices for select gaming hardware and accessories will see an increase in the United States, effective next week.
Impacted Hardware: The Nintendo Switch Family
The adjustments specifically target the last-generation Nintendo Switch console lineup, which includes the following models:
- Nintendo Switch – OLED Model
- Nintendo Switch
- Nintendo Switch Lite
While the company has not provided specific details, it has noted that some accessories related to the Switch will also be subject to these price changes.
Current Pricing Landscape
Currently, the pricing for the Switch consoles stands at:
- $299.99 for the Nintendo Switch
- $199.99 for the Switch Lite
- $349.99 for the Switch OLED
Although Nintendo has yet to announce the new retail prices, past trends suggest that customers could expect an increase of approximately $20 per console, similar to recent hikes noted in Canada.
Broader Implications for Accessories
In addition to the console price adjustments, the company noted that prices for certain accessories will also be affected. This includes:
- Some Nintendo Switch 2 accessories
