Recently published images purportedly depict an accurate physical model of the Nintendo Switch 2. These visuals emerged during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas, fueling excitement about the successor to the popular Nintendo Switch.

Although Nintendo has not officially confirmed the next generation of its Switch console, rumors and leaks have rapidly increased. Fresh speculations about features, accessories, and games for the Switch 2 seem to appear almost daily. Much of this information is sourced from accessory manufacturers – companies that often gain early access to hardware specifications to create compatible products in advance of launch.

Genki Presents Replicated Model of Switch 2 Hardware

The visuals reported by the German site Netzwelt illustrate a Switch 2 design that is noticeably larger than the existing model, featuring a display size reminiscent of the Lenovo Legion Go handheld gaming device. The Joy-Cons appear to be designed for side detachment, suggesting a shift towards magnetic connections instead of the current upward slide mechanism. Nevertheless, it is speculated that some form of mechanical locking mechanism will be implemented to prevent accidental detachment. Additionally, the right Joy-Con seemingly includes an extra, unmarked button.

Genki’s creation of the Switch 2 model serves a dual purpose. Rather than showcasing it to the public before Nintendo’s official unveiling, Genki aims to attract potential buyers for its upcoming line of cases and accessories. The company plans to introduce eight accessories, which will include options for controllers and the console dock. However, Genki has yet to provide any hints regarding Nintendo’s timeline for the Switch 2’s launch or reveal.
