Recent reports indicate that Nintendo is possibly gearing up to launch a 3D Super Mario game along with a remake of a classic Legend of Zelda title for the Nintendo Switch 2 by the end of 2025. While various independent developers have already expressed intentions to cater to the new console, only one prominent title from Nintendo—Mario Kart—has been officially revealed for the system.
At the official unveiling of the Switch 2, Nintendo only showcased Mario Kart, signifying that while more titles are likely being developed, details about them remain under wraps for now. Clearly, the anticipation among fans is building, and the rumors of additional games are generating significant buzz.
Speculations Surrounding 3D Mario and Zelda Remake Coming to Switch 2
The buzz surrounding a new 3D Mario game is intensifying, and fans can hardly imagine a Nintendo console launching without a dedicated Mario title. Since the debut of Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64, each subsequent console has seen a new installment of the beloved franchise. Interestingly, there are whispers that the forthcoming Mario game may adopt an open-world format, a concept that was successfully explored in Bowser’s Fury.
Regarding the Legend of Zelda remake, speculation is more complex. The listing might point to enhanced ports of the acclaimed Wii U titles, Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, both long anticipated by fans.
