As of March 3, Nintendo Music has enhanced its offerings by introducing the soundtrack for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. This marks the fifth addition from the beloved series to the Nintendo Music app, exclusively available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.

Launched in 1991, A Link to the Past is recognized as the only primary Zelda title on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and is frequently hailed as one of the franchise’s finest entries. The storyline unfolds as the villain Agahnim seizes control of Hyrule Castle after the nefarious acts of the Dark World’s creatures lead to the king’s demise. Link must navigate the castle’s dungeons to rescue Princess Zelda and later face new challenges when she is captured once more, this time transported to the Dark World. The game has been re-released on several platforms, including the Nintendo Switch Online SNES app.

With the latest update, subscribers can now enjoy a broader array of compositions from the Zelda series without any additional cost. The Nintendo Music app updates weekly, continually adding new albums from various first-party Nintendo games and applications—such as those from StreetPass Mii Plaza and Mii Channel.

The soundtrack comprises 31 tracks with a total duration of about 46 minutes, featuring beloved themes like “Light World”and “Dark World.”The app also incorporates an Extended Playback feature, allowing listeners to loop these tracks in increments of 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Users with sufficient storage on their iOS or Android devices can stream or download these tracks at their convenience.

This release follows the addition of the Skyward Sword soundtrack in January 2025, making A Link to the Past the fifth Zelda album in the Nintendo Music app. Other notable soundtracks available include selections from Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, and Breath of the Wild.
