Whether you’re a novice player or a seasoned veteran of Dig, numerous hidden quests offer unique rewards. Among these is the elusive Ninja Way quest, which grants a valuable charm upon completion. However, tracking down the NPC who initiates this quest can be a challenge.
Initiating the Ninja Way Quest in Dig
To embark on the Ninja Way quest, you need to locate Sydney NPC, positioned near the lighthouse to the left of Cinder Shores at the coordinates: 769, 266, 647. Given that the lighthouse is perched on a cliff, the standard route into Cinder Shores won’t suffice. Follow these steps for a straightforward search:
- From the Cinder Shores entrance, proceed straight ahead and take the first right.
- Turn right again and ascend the mountain after passing through the woods.
- Upon reaching the cliff’s edge, you’ll find the lighthouse—walk around it to the back.
- Find Sydney perched at the edge and interact with her using the E key.
- Select the Start Quest option, and she will request that you defeat any boss in Dig.
Efficiently Completing the Ninja Way Quest in Dig
After successfully defeating a boss, return to Sydney to claim your reward, which is Sydney’s Katana charm. To tackle bosses effectively, consider utilizing top-tier Dig shovels like the Beast Slayer or the Arachnid Shovel. Enhancing your efforts with charms that amplify boss damage, such as the Blueshroom Cap or the Spiky Barrel, will yield better results. Additionally, placing Dig totems like the Monarch Totem can grant you a significant edge, providing a 25% damage boost to bosses.
If you’ve completed several Combat Guild quests, the Bounty Hunter buff can further enhance your boss damage. To maximize your advantage, consider enchanting your shovel with the Sundering enchantment. For those still at lower levels, targeting the King Crab is advisable because it has the lowest HP among all bosses in the game.
The King Crab has a natural spawn rate of just 0.018%, but can be summoned using a Seafarer’s Horn at Cinder Shores. Purchase boss-summoning Dig horns from the Combat Guild located in Fernhill Forest, ensuring you have previously defeated the King Crab at least once to unlock the horn.
Don’t feel pressured to deal the highest amount of damage during the boss fight; contributing enough to secure a victory will suffice for completing the Ninja Way quest. Just remember to initiate the quest before the boss is defeated.
Modifying Sydney’s Katana Stats
Upon completing the boss battle, Sydney rewards you with the Katana charm. However, the charm’s stats might not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, you cannot repeat the quest or engage her again to improve these stats.
To reroll the charm’s pips, you will need a Charm Chisel, which is available for purchase at the Appraiser’s stall in Fox Town for $25, 000. The chisel allows you to modify any charm’s stats.
- Access your equipment bag and select the Charms tab.
- Find Sydney’s Katana and click on the pencil icon.
- Pay the fees, and watch as the stats transform.
Note that the charm must be unequipped before rerolling its stats. Follow the aforementioned steps to achieve your desired outcome.
