In the world of NieR: Automata, players are thrust into action right from the start as they embark on a mission with 2B. As you regain control of your flight unit and engage in combat, you will acquire a one-handed sword and the formidable two-handed sword known as the Virtuous Treaty.
Though the Virtuous Treaty proves to be a robust weapon, it is short-lived; players will lose it after the prologue. Fortunately, regaining access to this powerful sword is straightforward once you unlock free roaming in the subsequent chapter of the game.
Locating the Virtuous Treaty in NieR: Automata
If you’re eager to obtain the Virtuous Treaty early in the game, it’s not far from your starting point after exiting the bunker. Once you land in the city ruins, navigate to the lower area and turn to your left to identify a highway just above the nearest access point. Progress towards the highway, leaping onto the ruins to ascend and traverse the main road.
Following the highway will eventually lead you back to the factory. Descend to the factory, and follow the grassy pathway to reach the main structure. To your left, you’ll find another access point accompanied by a set of stairs ascending to a higher area. From this vantage point, look towards the left side to spot the destroyed bridge where you previously battled a Goliath-class enemy. Approach the edge of this bridge to uncover the Virtuous Treaty embedded in the ground, ready for you to collect.
Near the weapon’s location, you can also loot your old body situated just to the right, allowing you to reclaim all consumables that you had during the prologue.
Base Stats of the Virtuous Treaty In NieR: Automata
- Attack: 300-330
- Combo: Lt 2 Hv 2
The Virtuous Treaty is characterized by its wide-sweeping attacks, capable of damaging multiple enemies simultaneously, albeit at a slower attack speed typical of two-handed swords. With upgrades, this weapon can achieve one of the highest damage spreads in the game, as long as players can effectively compensate for its slower attack rate.
Additionally, players can combine the Virtuous Treaty’s heavy attacks with a faster weapon, allowing for a quick attack sequence. While this won’t unlock the full combo potential of the sword, it offers a strategic way to inflict high damage while utilizing the advantages of a speedy combination.
