The film features notable rap artists, including Eve, Tyga, Common, and Ice Cube, who has been a part of all films in the franchise. Barbershop: The Next Cut achieved significant success, grossing $55 million at the box office.

On September 17, 2024, Eve’s memoir, Who’s That Girl?, hit the shelves, revealing candid insights and bold truths about her illustrious career as a pioneering female emcee.

A standout revelation from the Grammy-winning artist’s memoir included her thoughts on Nicki Minaj. Eve disclosed that she started therapy prior to filming Barbershop: The Next Cut upon learning about Minaj’s prominent role in the movie.

Eve addressed the tendency among women to project their insecurities onto one another, sharing that as a former victim of such behavior, she sought therapy to avoid repeating the cycle with the Pink Friday rapper.

On September 23, Nicki Minaj expressed her admiration for Eve’s journey on her X (formerly Twitter) account, labeling it “groundbreaking.”She commended Eve for her “grace,””emotional and spiritual maturity,”and “self-reflection.”

Praising Eve further, the Young Money artist reflected:

“I was one of the kids in NY watching Ruff Ryderz on TV. I DEFINITELY remember how you took the game by storm, despite some people’s insecurities. Even if it’s not talked about now, I remember you handling it with grace and unapologetic TALENT & charisma. You achieved great heights – transitioning from making classic music with a stellar team to the BIG SCREEN, making it all look effortless.”

Nicki referred to Eve as a “trendsetter”and confessed that working with such an accomplished artist made her nervous every day on set. She expressed gratitude for Eve’s supportive attitude, which helped break the damaging cycle of rivalry among women in the industry.

The Hey Mama rapper concluded her tweet by congratulating Eve on her memoir and sending well-wishes to her family.
