With five studio albums, four solo headlining world tours, and a multitude of awards and accolades, Nicki Minaj is undeniably the reigning queen of rap. One notable project is The Angry Birds Movie 2, where Minaj voices Pinky—a tall, vibrant pink bird characterized by brown plumes, a beak resembling a nose, and an upbeat, carefree demeanor.
Released on August 14, 2019, this sequel followed the original Angry Birds movie that was released three years prior. Although it wasn’t as commercially successful as its predecessor, grossing $152.8 million compared to the first film’s $352 million, it still captured audience attention.
Pinky Hosts a Unique Bird Dating Event in Angry Birds 2
Pinky, voiced by Nicki Minaj, is a cheerful and chatty inhabitant of Bird Village, frequently engaging with her friends. She wholeheartedly endorses the truce between the birds and their pig counterparts, much to Red’s annoyance—Red being acknowledged as the village hero.

Despite the chaotic event, Pinky demonstrates unwavering faith in Red’s protective capabilities, reassuring other villagers as they express concern over Red’s journey to Eagle Island. By the conclusion of the movie, Pinky also celebrates the wedding of Zeta and the Mighty Eagle.
Besides Nicki Minaj, the film features a star-studded voice cast including:
- Jason Sudeikis as Red
- Leslie Jones as Zeta

Minaj’s Voice Role in Ice Age: Continental Drift
Prior to her role in The Angry Birds Movie 2, Nicki Minaj lent her voice to the character of Steffie in the 2012 film Ice Age: Continental Drift, the fourth installment of the beloved franchise.
In this animated feature, she portrayed Steffie, short for Steffany, a teenage mammoth who is infatuated with Ethan (voiced by Drake) whom Peaches has her eyes on.
Discussing her character on the Flicks and Bits podcast, Minaj shared:
“Well, [my character] Steffie, she’s a cutesy little ladybug, and of course, I call everyone ladybugs if I really love them. But of course, she’s not a ladybug; she’s huge, but she’s so beautiful.”
The 41-year-old added:
“She’s a mammoth, she has blonde hair, and she does really cute stuff with her hair. She styles her lashes; she uses mascara. And, you know, she’s just adorable! I think she’s fantastic.”
Elsewhere in the podcast, Nicki expressed how much “a blessing”and “an honor”it was to be part of the film alongside Queen Latifah, whom Minaj has admired for many years. She remarked:
“I’ve looked up to her for so many years, she embodies everything that I aspire to do, you know? She transitions from acting to voiceovers—she’s everything to me… Being a part of something she’s involved in makes me immensely proud.”
Since her voice-over role in The Angry Birds Movie 2 in 2019, Nicki Minaj has focused on her music career, with her latest studio album, Pink Friday 2, released in December 2023.
