Nicki Minaj Addresses Accusations Regarding Cardi B’s Daughter

Throughout her impressive 15-year career in the rap industry, Nicki Minaj has encountered notable feuds with several fellow artists, including Remy Ma, Lil Kim, Latto, and Megan Thee Stallion. However, her ongoing rivalry with Cardi B stands out, primarily due to a highly publicized altercation in 2018.

After an incident where Cardi B confronted Minaj at a party in 2018, Nicki addressed the subsequent allegations during an episode of her Apple Music show, Queen Radio. She firmly denied rumors suggesting that she spoke negatively about Cardi B’s daughter, stating:

“It’s so sad for someone to pin that on me because I’m the bad guy and they know people would believe them. So let me just go on record having said, I would never talk about anyone’s child or parenting.”

The Pink Friday rapper elaborated further:

“I just wanna let the world know that Onika Tanya Miraj would never, has never, or will never speak ill of anyone’s child. I am not a clown. That’s clown sh*t.”

Nicki Minaj Accuses Cardi B of Being a Hypocrite

On September 10, 2018, during her radio show, Minaj confronted the accusations made by Cardi B. She began the episode by playing an audio clip of what was purportedly Cardi B’s voice, claiming:

“I hate when some people come at me and they’re like, ‘Oh, Cardi, why you coming at people’s kids for?’ But I’m my mother’s kid. Like, the same way your kid is your baby, I’m my mother’s baby.”

Minaj’s use of the clip aimed to spotlight what she described as Cardi’s hypocrisy, pointing out that the Please Me rapper criticized her for behavior that she herself engaged in. The 41-year-old further questioned Cardi’s actions by adding:

“The world gave you a blessing, of a beautiful bundle of joy, and the only thing on your mind after you gave birth was to attack people.”

Nicki also referenced unverified claims about Cardi, stating:

“You calling black women roaches. You getting girls beat up because of what your man doing? Real b*tches never do that—you never attack the woman…you take that up with your f***ing man.”

She then suggested that Cardi needed professional help:

“You’re angry and you’re sad. This is not funny and this is not about attacking. This is about getting this woman some f***ing help. This woman is at the best stage in her career and she’s out here throwing bottles and throwing shoes? Who the f*** is going to give her a f***ing intervention?”

Minaj’s Remarks Followed Cardi B’s Shoe-Throwing Incident

The controversy Nicki was referencing during her September 2018 episode stemmed from Cardi B’s notorious shoe-throwing incident, which occurred just three days earlier at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party in New York, where both artists were present.

A source described the situation to People magazine as “entourage against entourage,”saying:

“It all happened 20 seconds after Kelly Rowland left Nicki Minaj — she was in between them. Cardi walked towards Nicki and all of a sudden Cardi started screaming something about her child. She was yelling, ‘B***h you feisty. B***h don’t talk s*** about my child’ at Nicki.”

Following this confrontation, Cardi threw her shoe at Nicki, and despite attempting to physically reach her, she was stopped by Minaj’s bodyguards, resulting in a bump on Cardi’s forehead.

Later evidence revealed that the shoe Cardi hurled ended up hitting one of her own bodyguards, who was surrounded by a group of eight to nine men protecting Nicki.

The day subsequent to the event, Cardi shared a screenshot of her notes on Instagram, insinuating that her outburst stemmed from Nicki approving a comment that criticized her “mothering skills.”However, no substantial proof has surfaced online supporting her claims.

Currently, both Nicki Minaj and Cardi B are in the process of developing their forthcoming studio albums. Cardi has promised fans that her sophomore album will be released sometime in 2024, while Minaj is set to announce the release date for her sixth album, Pink Friday 3, in the near future.
