During his October 11 appearance on The Breakfast Club, Nick Cannon, the multifaceted comedian, actor, TV host, and rapper, opened up about his experiences at a party hosted by Diddy. He recounted his first visit to one of Sean Combs’ gatherings in New York City, recalling that he was merely a teenager, around 16 or 17 years old. He made it clear, however, that he had never participated in the notorious “freak-offs.”
“People hesitate to speak up possibly because they might have something to conceal. I have nothing to hide. I was out there Harlem shaking and all that, but let’s be real,” he remarked.
Cannon mentioned that his lack of engagement at Diddy’s parties stemmed from his choices not to consume drugs or alcohol. He suggested that many celebrities who choose not to discuss their experiences at these high-profile events might be trying to cover up their own secrets, fearing potential scandal.
Insight Into Nick Cannon’s Revelations About Diddy Parties
Earlier in the month, Cannon spoke candidly with DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, and Loren LoRosa on The Breakfast Club, reflecting on his teenage foray into Sean Combs’ party scene in NYC.
“I’m living my truth. I remember waiting outside, trying to get into a Puff party in New York. It was just like the scene in the ‘One More Chance’ video; it was that real,” Nick shared.
The 44-year-old comedian elaborated:
“There were people lined up at the entrance, trying to figure out who could get in. Those Bad Boy parties were iconic in New York back in the late ’90s.”
He further claimed that there was nothing out of the ordinary or “wild” at such gatherings, particularly at those held in Diddy’s hometown of Harlem.
On October 21, Nick Cannon reaffirmed his statements during a No Jumper podcast appearance alongside hosts Adam22 and Wack 100. He discussed how he had rarely witnessed inappropriate behavior at Diddy’s parties, as he usually attended for work and departed early.
“I’m the DJ. When my set is done, I’m out… Whatever’s happening, we’ll find out in May,” he added.
As the host of America’s Got Talent, Cannon labeled many of the allegations against Diddy as “sensationalized,” stating he did not believe the claims that Combs assaulted minors. He remarked, “The Puff I knew seemed like he was trying to change and evolve, wanting to be a father,” though he acknowledged that his past may have caught up with him. Cannon noted that Diddy “has endured so much” and is now facing the consequences of his actions.
When prompted by the hosts regarding how success, fame, and wealth may have influenced Diddy’s lifestyle, Cannon concurred, adding that many were aware of Diddy’s notorious reputation and now that he is facing challenges, he finds himself without supporters.
Cannon also shared his thoughts on the topic of intimacy, stating that after a wealth of experiences, he has gained a new perspective on what it means to connect with others.
“Even as a man in my 40s, I’m over all that. I’m not referring just to the physical aspect, but more to the mental burden of it all,” he explained.
In recent news, Sean Combs was apprehended by federal agents on September 16, facing charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by coercion, and transportation for prostitution, following a grand jury indictment.
He later appeared in federal court in Manhattan, where he pleaded not guilty but was denied bail multiple times due to risks of witness tampering, intimidation, erratic behavior, and being a “serious flight risk.” Currently, he resides in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center as he awaits trial, scheduled to commence on May 5, 2025.
