NFL fans divided over Stefon Diggs’ cryptic tweet: “You’re washed up stop crying,” “Josh Allen would be mediocre without him”
The X community of NFL supporters is divided over Stefon Diggs’ recent tweet, which was prompted by Robert Griffin III’s latest video where he questioned if Diggs is crucial to Allen’s achievements.
Griffin’s statement on Twitter says:
“He has been since he got to Buffalo in 2020, they are better together and if Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen stay together with the @BuffaloBills this year, their Championship window is WIDE OPEN.”
On the other hand, a different football fan expressed their opinion, stating:
“Does Josh benefit from having a top tier receiver, yes. Is he essential to his success, no.”
After examining the post, Diggs made a comment asking:
“You sure?”
Another football fan responded to his comment:
“Buddy your (you’re) washed up stop crying”
Despite the individual’s right to voice their opinion, it is difficult to claim that a wide receiver with 107 receptions, 1,183 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns is past their prime.
In the meantime, another supporter of the NFL expressed their support for Diggs, stating:
“Stefon Diggs basically saying what we all already know: Josh Allen would be mediocre without him.”
The All-Pro wideout’s statement may hold weight as Allen’s first selections for both All-Pro and Pro Bowl came in 2020, which was also Diggs’ debut season with the Buffalo Bills. Prior to Diggs joining the team, Allen had recorded 30 touchdowns, 21 interceptions, and a completion percentage of 55.8% during his first two years in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings.
Additional remarks have been made about Diggs’ brief yet forceful response.
With the beginning of offseason activities on April 15, Bills’ fans will be sure to take notice of Diggs’ attendance.
Will Stefon Diggs continue to thrive in Buffalo?
Despite signing a four-year, $96 million contract with Buffalo during the 2022 offseason, Stefon Diggs’ future with the team has been called into question due to ongoing trade rumors. His recent tweet has only added to the speculation, despite his current contract keeping him with the team until 2027.
“Ready for watever.”
Despite the possibility of a trade, the situation remains inconclusive. In the context of their team, Diggs and Allen did not always agree, as seen in the 2022 Divisional Round Game against the Cincinnati Bengals when Diggs confronted Allen on the sideline.
The tension carried over to the Bills’ 2023 mandatory minicamp when Diggs failed to attend. However, they reconciled and secured the second seed by beating the Miami Dolphins in their final regular season game.
Despite having home-field advantage, the Buffalo Bills were unable to overcome the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round. This marks the third time in the past four seasons that the Chiefs have knocked the Bills out of the playoffs.
The current obstacle may lead to the end of Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs’s professional partnership. As the offseason is still in its early stages, there is a possibility for various outcomes.
