Path of Exile 2, crafted by Grinding Gear Games, has begun teasing its significant content for March’s 0.2.0 update. Originally entering early access in December 2024, the developers aim for a comprehensive release by May 2025.
As a sequel to the well-regarded 2013 title, Path of Exile 2 presents players with a thrilling isometric dungeon-crawling experience, featuring a total of 12 character classes poised for adventurers. The current early access version includes six classes: Warrior, Monk, Mercenary, Sorceress, Witch, and Ranger. The highly anticipated 0.2.0 update is on track to launch by the end of March 2025, promising a host of invigorating gameplay adjustments.
In a recent announcement on the official Path of Exile website, developers noted that while they are keeping many details of the update under wraps, they have shared intriguing teasers. Among these changes, players can look forward to enhancements for the game’s strongest build archetype and the introduction of fresh Ascendancy Classes. One notable teaser mentioned a character wielding a crossbow, hinting at a potential new Ascendancy for the Mercenary class, with descriptions suggesting, “Countless wars have left you with skills somewhat resembling a decent officer…”

In addition to new Ascendancy Classes, the update will debut two Unique items: the Prism Guardian, a Sectarian Crest Shield, and The Deepest Tower, recognized as a Spiritbone Crown. Players should note that these items will require a higher character level to utilize effectively. Grinding Gear Games has also highlighted several improvements aimed at the Endgame, which include added enhancements and new choices in the Atlas Passive Skill Tree.
