NewJeans Parents Launch Social Media Profile Following Dispute with ADOR Over Misleading Media Headlines

NewJeans Parents Launch Social Media Account Amidst Contract Dispute

In a significant move, the parents of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein from the popular girl group NewJeans have created a combined social media profile to articulate their perspective on the current conflict with their label, ADOR. This decision comes as the group faces ongoing contract negotiations that have drawn considerable media attention.

In their inaugural post on Instagram, found at @jeanz_pr, the parents issued a heartfelt statement explaining their motivations for establishing this account. They expressed frustration with traditional media’s portrayal of the situation, noting a lack of accurate coverage.

Concerns Over Misrepresentation

The statement elucidates that many outlets have not only failed to adequately represent their narratives but have also published misleading headlines that distort the facts. The parents articulated the following:

“Hello, we are the parents of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein,

This account has been temporarily created out of necessity to represent our stance in the dispute with HYBE.

As there has been no official channel to convey our position, we have made numerous attempts to communicate the facts through direct interviews with various media outlets or by reaching out to journalists we have come to know.

While some media outlets have faithfully reported our statements, they were very few. We also attempted to distribute statements through an agency, but headlines were often misleading, and we faced significant challenges in ensuring our position was accurately conveyed without distortion.

While articles reflecting the members’ perspectives are either misquoted, framed negatively, or barely published, HYBE and ADOR are distributing hundreds of articles daily—many of which contain false information or solely represent HYBE and ADOR’s stance—without undergoing the standard journalistic processes of fact-checking or the right to refute. This includes publications in online propaganda outlets.

[Unfortunately, ahead of the injunction lawsuit, we have received reports that HYBE and ADOR are once again circulating unfounded rumors and distributing fabricated reports to journalists in an attempt to spread false narratives about the members. This has prompted us to create this account.]

We understand that many may be weary from this prolonged dispute, and we sincerely apologize for that.

However, the content shared through this account will primarily consist of matters that the members themselves cannot easily address.

As their only spokespersons at this time, we urgently need a platform to set the record straight, and we ask for your understanding.”

This decisive action by the parents highlights a growing trend in the entertainment industry where external pressures and the rapid dissemination of information through social media platforms can overshadow the voices of artists and their families. As the situation evolves, many fans are closely monitoring developments and expressing their support for the members of NewJeans.
