NewJeans Declines to Reunite with HYBE and ADOR Following Alleged Betrayal: ‘Secret Meetings with Our Parents’

NewJeans Takes a Stand Against ADOR in Ongoing Legal Dispute

In a significant development following ADOR’s lawsuit aimed at validating their exclusive contract, the renowned K-pop group NewJeans consisting of members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, has issued a resolute statement in collaboration with their legal representation, Sejong Law Firm.

Unyielding Decision Against Rejoining

Despite attempts by HYBE and ADOR to secure an injunction that would maintain the group’s position within the agency and prevent them from independently signing advertising contracts, NewJeans has made a unanimous decision to sever ties with the label. The five members expressed their collective stance, stating, “The five of us have absolutely no intention of returning to HYBE and ADOR, from whom we cannot even expect the bare minimum of trust.”

Independent Promotion and Legal Action

While actively promoting themselves under the social media handle “jeanzforfree,”the members of NewJeans explained that their decision to pursue legal action stems from ongoing harm inflicted by ADOR on them and numerous others associated with the label. The group accused ADOR of attempting to abandon and replace them, alleging that their private information was leaked to the media and YouTubers, resulting in unwarranted accusations and defamatory content.

In a candid statement, NewJeans asserted, “HYBE and ADOR did not fulfill their duty as an agency to protect and grow their artists. There were big and small interferences throughout our activities.” They also revealed troubling tactics employed by the agency, such as misrepresenting the end of their entertainment careers as merely a “long-term vacation.”This remark highlights the group’s frustrations and feelings of betrayal.

Allegations of Covert Harassment

NewJeans further alleged that both companies have been engaging in covert harassment, claiming attempts to meet privately with their parents to sow discord among the group. They critiqued the agencies’ tactics, stating, “Instead of cowardly slandering and dividing others in places that are not visible, and playing with the media with false facts, I hope that they will be honest and upright in their dealings with right and wrong.”

Commitment to Remaining Obligations

Despite their firm commitment to terminate their contracts legally, the group expressed a desire to fulfill their remaining obligations to ADOR to minimize disruption and protect those involved. This reflects their professionalism and commitment to their fans and associates.

As this high-profile case continues to unfold, it signals a pivotal moment in the K-pop industry, emphasizing the importance of trust and integrity within artist-agency relationships.
