With its growing popularity, the franchise continues to expand. Following the successful release of the anime series, an exciting announcement has been made regarding the forthcoming film, set to debut on April 18, 2025. Recently, the official social media channels revealed both a teaser visual featuring the main characters and a trailer that provides a glimpse into the film’s storyline.

Teaser for Me and Roboco anime film

Fans of Me & Roboco can look forward to hearing the familiar voices from the anime in the upcoming film, as the original cast will remain largely intact. Key returning characters include:

  • Roboco: Voiced by Shun Matsuo
  • Bondo Taira : Voiced by Minami Tsuda
  • Gachi Gorilla: Voiced by Ryōtarō Okiayu
  • Motsuo Kaneo : Voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi
  • Madoka: Voiced by M. A.O

Adding layers to the story, the film will introduce three new alternate versions of Roboco, each uniquely voiced:

  • Roboco (from the World of Genuine SF Action): Voiced by Shigeru Chiba
  • Roboco (from the World of Romantic Comedies): Voiced by Sumire Uesaka
  • Roboco (from the World of Showa Era Gag Manga): Voiced by Masako Nozawa

These new iterations of Roboco showcase diverse design influences from various manga genres. The action-themed Roboco dons a robust, muscular appearance reminiscent of popular characters such as Jotaro Kujo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. In contrast, the romantic comedy version is depicted with violet hair, embracing a more feminine aesthetic. Lastly, the Showa Era Gag Manga design features a humorous character that aligns with classic manga tropes.

The film is helmed by Akitaro Daichi at Studio Gallop, with Michihiro Sato serving as the assistant director and Sayuri Ooba responsible for the screenplay. Additionally, Yuko Ebara will design the characters for the film.

At its core, Me & Roboco tells the story of Bondo, a young boy whose dream of owning a robot maid becomes a reality, only to discover that this robotic companion is far from ordinary.
