New Update for The First Descendant: Essential Improvements and Features

Overview of Latest Update

  • The release of hotfix 1.2.7 for The First Descendant enhances the endgame experience, specifically within the Void Erosion Purge, by improving weapon balance and adjusting enemy spawn rates.
  • Gameplay experience is notably better thanks to changes in enemy spawns and weapon attributes, catering to player concerns about difficulty.
  • Upcoming updates will include balance changes and more refinements for Void Erosion Purge, albeit with delays due to work on Season 2 Episode 2.

In a significant move to enhance gameplay, Nexon Games has rolled out an update for The First Descendant, specifically targeting the critiqued Void Erosion Purge which has faced backlash during Season 2. Players expressed dissatisfaction with the challenging nature of this mode, pointing out the woes associated with weapon efficiency and difficult enemy spawns, making progression difficult even within four-player teams.

Despite varying reviews on platforms like Steam, Nexon Games remains committed to refining the game with new features that continually draw players back. The game has bred excitement with fresh Descendants, new weaponry, expansive gear options, as well as novel maps and game modes including the much-anticipated Void Erosion Purge. However, players have consistently voiced concerns over the balance and difficulty of the mode.

Hotfix 1.2.7 has been implemented across all platforms, focusing on essential adjustments to Void Erosion Purge. In his latest message, game director Minseok Joo acknowledged ongoing dissatisfaction, emphasizing the intent behind the update to enhance player experience and address existing discomforts. Significant changes include a reduction in ranged attacks from Elite Wardens and the removal of the Chill status effect from Normal and Elite Trackers. Moreover, adjustments in enemy spawns from stage 21 onwards have significantly decreased the prevalence of Farseers and Trackers, making it less daunting for players. Notably, adjustments for solo players have also been made, along with nerfs to Commander Monsters for pairs and groups of four.

Ultimate Freyna in The First Descendant

The update not only boosts weapon attribute attacks in the Void Erosion Purge but also enhances ammo drop rates. The new reward distribution clearly makes it more rewarding for players, irrespective of penalty duration post-mission completion. While these adjustments aim to elevate the gaming experience, director Joo recognizes that many underlying issues still require attention in forthcoming updates, aiming to solidify The First Descendant as a frontrunner in multiplayer co-op gameplay.

Further balance adjustments and refinements for the playable Descendants and the Void Erosion Purge are on the horizon as stated by Joo. These improvements have been somewhat delayed due to the ongoing preparations for Season 2 Episode 2, but the development team is diligently gathering player feedback for future enhancements.
