The three cast members announced thus far for the Hana-Kimi anime adaptation are:

- Taku Yashiro, recognized from Sakamoto Days, Honey Lemon Soda, and To Your Eternity, will play Izumi Sano.
- Kikunosuke Toya, from Chainsaw Man, The Elusive Samurai, and Four Knights of the Apocalypse, will take the role of Shuichi Nakatsu.

Although its anime adaptation has been a long time coming, Hana-Kimi is no stranger to live-action adaptations. The initial version aired in 2006 with 15 episodes, followed by a second in 2007 comprising 12 episodes, and additional adaptations released in 2011 and 2012.
