New report has set a May release time frame for new Apple iPad Pro and Air models

In December 2023, Mark Gurman, a reliable source for upcoming Apple products, reported that the company was preparing to release new iPad Pro and iPad Air tablets in March 2024.

Despite previous plans for a release date in March, it seems that those plans have changed. According to a report from Bloomberg and Gurman, the new iPad models will now be launching sometime in early May 2024. Gurman also mentioned that Apple’s suppliers have increased production in order to meet this new release schedule.

Prior unverified rumors have suggested that the upcoming iPad Pro models will be available in both 11-inch and 13-inch sizes and will feature Apple’s in-house M3 processor. The most significant update for these tablets is the introduction of OLED displays, providing owners with an improved display experience for the first time.

According to reports, the upcoming release of the iPad Air will offer a 10.9-inch display, similar to the current model, as well as a larger 12.9-inch model. Along with these new devices, we can also anticipate the launch of additional accessories, such as a keyboard and a new Apple Pencil.

According to the report, the reason for the delay in the release of the new iPad was attributed to two main factors. Firstly, the production of the new OLED displays for the upcoming iPad Pro models required additional time due to the implementation of intricate manufacturing techniques. Additionally, Apple needed extra time to complete the software for the new tablets.

The most recent iteration of the iPad Air was released on March 8, 2022, over two years ago. The current iPad Pro model was launched in October 2022. Due to the lack of new iPad releases, sales in this division have declined in recent Apple financial reports.
