Overview
- World of Warcraft enthusiasts can acquire distinctive rewards through the collection of Plunder in the newly released Plunderstorm battle royale mode.
- These rewards are one-time redemptions applicable per World of Warcraft account and can be exchanged for Warbound chests that contain random gear items.
- Among the new rewards are Storm-Singed Plunder chests, featuring tokens that players can use to obtain gear in Dornogal’s Forgegrounds.
On January 31, Blizzard announced exciting new incentives for World of Warcraft players participating in the Plunderstorm game mode. Players can earn these rewards simply by engaging in the battle royale format and gathering Plunder. Each WoW account can redeem these rewards once, which can be exchanged for two types of Warbound chests that yield random gear pieces.
Following the success of its inaugural season during the Dragonflight 10.2.6 update, Plunderstorm returned for a second season on January 14, just a week after the conclusion of World of Warcraft’s 20th-anniversary celebration. This 60-player battle royale mode immerses players in a pirate-themed contest set in Arathi Basin, offering options to play solo, in pairs, or in trios. Notably, for the second season, the introduction of the Plunderstore allows players to easily use their collected Plunder for cosmetic rewards such as weapons, mounts, and companion pets.
Exciting New, One-Time Plunderstorm Rewards in World of Warcraft

- Players who gather 5, 000 Plunder will receive a Storm-Singed Plunder chest via in-game mail.
- This offer is exclusively available for the retail version of World of Warcraft.
- The Storm-Singed Plunder chest holds tokens that can be traded for Warbound chests containing random gear items.
- Reminder: Each player account can redeem this reward only once.
Players can exchange Keg-Leg’s Bronze Spoils for a Swabbie’s Lockbox, which provides a random piece of Uncommon gear upon opening. Alternatively, Keg-Leg’s Silver Spoils can be traded for a Pirate’s Booty chest, granting a piece of Heroic item-level 610 gear from the current raid, Nerub’ar Palace, in The War Within. As these chests are Warbound, players can utilize them on any character linked to their World of Warcraft account. Furthermore, an efficient way to amass the required 5, 000 Plunder is through the Captain’s Orders daily quest in Plunderstorm, which awards 1, 000 Plunder for completing random tasks.
It is still uncertain whether these rewards will remain available until the conclusion of the Plunderstorm event, meaning time may be of the essence for players wishing to claim their rewards. With Patch 11.1 currently in development on the public test realms, players are left to anticipate what additional surprises Blizzard has in store for the World of Warcraft community.
