Nintendo has enhanced its Nintendo Music catalog by adding more audio tracks from the beloved Super Mario World. This legendary game has secured its place in the annals of gaming history, with its music becoming an integral part of pop culture, particularly within the extensive and celebrated Mario franchise.

The Nintendo Music streaming app made its debut in late 2022, providing exclusive access to Switch Online members. At launch, the app featured 23 distinct soundtracks. Designed for both iOS and Android platforms, it offers an exciting variety of options, including themed playlists such as “Powering Up”for workout sessions and a unique spoiler setting to keep users from hearing music from unreleased games. Furthermore, the app allows users to loop their favorite tracks or play them for extended durations of up to 60 minutes.

As announced by user Wario64 on Twitter, the Super Mario World soundtrack has just been added to the Nintendo Music app. Originally gracing gaming systems in 1990, this celebrated OST joins the app’s growing library, which recently welcomed another fan-favorite: the soundtrack from Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

New Addition: Super Mario World OST on Nintendo Music

The inclusion of Super Mario World OST contributes to an expanding repertoire of tracks available on the Nintendo Music app, which already houses classics like Zelda, Donkey Kong Country 2, and Kirby’s Dream Land. By creating a dedicated music app, Nintendo diverges from the trend of utilizing existing streaming services, a move likely motivated by the sheer depth of its intellectual property that packs nostalgia and familiarity for many fans.

Looking forward, Nintendo aims to continue building on its rich legacy with the impending launch of the anticipated Switch 2 in 2025. This new console is positioned to release ahead of anticipated gaming iterations from competitors such as PlayStation, which plans a launch in 2027, and Xbox, rumored for 2026. Given its notable history and the continuing affection for its characters and narratives, Nintendo stands poised to maintain a prominent role within the gaming industry.

As the fourth title in the acclaimed series and a direct follow-up to Super Mario Bros.3, Super Mario World received widespread acclaim at its launch. Its captivating soundtrack, now available on the Nintendo Music app, allows longtime fans and new listeners alike to immerse themselves in its timeless melodies whenever and wherever they choose.
