New Groove Coaster Game Announced for Nintendo Switch

Taito has exciting news for rhythm game enthusiasts: they are developing a brand-new iteration of Groove Coaster for the Nintendo Switch, slated for an official reveal on January 30, 2025.

Continuing the Legacy of Groove Coaster

This upcoming title will be the latest addition to the Groove Coaster franchise, which first captivated players on mobile platforms in 2011. Since then, the series has expanded its reach to PC and Nintendo Switch, amassing over 7 million downloads across all platforms by January 9, 2025. While Groove Coaster also debuted in arcades, Taito has recently decided to discontinue support for these venues due to challenges with storage limitations.

The presentation unveiling this new game will commence at 7:30 PM JST (5:30 AM ET) on January 30, 2025. Not only will Taito share the latest game details, but the event will also feature a live DJ performance by the renowned Ryutaro “Ryu☆” Nakahara, celebrated for his work on Konami’s Bemani series.

Future of Groove Coaster: Wai Wai Party

As Taito prepares for the introduction of the new Groove Coaster title, questions arise regarding the future of Groove Coaster: Wai Wai Party, which has been available on Nintendo Switch since late 2019. Taito has been dedicated to enriching this game with regular updates for over five years, introducing exciting crossovers from various franchises, including Square Enix’s The World Ends With You.
