Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27808 Now Available in the Canary Channel
Windows Insiders participating in the Canary Channel can now download the latest update, build 27808. This release brings notable enhancements to CPU monitoring within the Task Manager, along with a variety of fixes that address issues impacting gaming, printing, search functionality, graphics, firmware security with BitLocker, and more.

Task Manager Enhancements
One of the significant updates in this build is the improved accuracy in CPU utilization reporting across the Processes, Performance, and Users pages in Task Manager. By adopting standardized metrics, Microsoft aims to ensure consistency with industry benchmarks and third-party applications. Additionally, a new optional column titled ‘CPU Utility, ’ which tracks the previous CPU values, has been introduced on the Details tab for those seeking backward compatibility.
Fixes Incorporated in Build 27808
The recent update includes crucial bug fixes across various functionalities:
Gaming: Resolved an issue that could lead to a bugcheck error (commonly known as the “green screen”error) for popular games like Roblox when launched from Build 27802.
Printing: Fixed a bug that caused a crash when printing from select applications, resulting in a bugcheck on Build 27802.
Search: Corrected an issue where the search interface would appear blank for certain users after a background crash occurred while using the taskbar search feature.
Graphics: Addressed a problem where adding a color profile in the Display settings could crash the Settings app. Also resolved an issue where color profiles did not load correctly when waking the PC from sleep mode.
Power and Battery: The update rectifies issues with color display inconsistencies in the battery icon when certain personalization settings are applied.
BitLocker: Improvements have been made to the early boot UI performance, including screens for entering BitLocker PINs and recovery keys. Fixed a loop issue related to BitLocker for some users and resolved error messages encountered when using the Get-BitLockerVolume command.
Other Fixes: The update includes changes that may have resolved prior issues hindering the proper functionality of Hyper-V and associated features like Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).

General Notes
Attention Copilot+ PC Users: If you are transitioning to the Canary Channel from the Dev Channel, Release Preview Channel, or retail on a new Copilot+ PC, please note that you may experience a loss of access to Windows Hello PIN and biometric sign-in, accompanied by error code 0xd0000225. You can re-establish your PIN by selecting “Set up my PIN.”
New Issue Under Investigation: A d3d9.dll crash has been identified, which is causing various applications to fail to launch for some Insiders since Build 27802. Work is ongoing to pinpoint and resolve this issue.
