Microsoft has introduced a new Windows 11 preview build within the Canary Channel, designated as Build 27802. This release features several enhancements, including a revamped battery indicator, improvements to the taskbar, and numerous bug fixes. Below are the highlights of this update:

Revamped Battery Iconography

The latest build brings a fresh design to the battery icons in Windows 11, enhancing the way users can assess battery status at a glance. Notable updates include:

Colored Icons: Charging states are now indicated through colored battery icons, facilitating quicker interpretation of your device’s power status.

Simplified Overlays: Overlays have been minimized to avoid obstructing the progress bar.

Battery Percentage Option: Users can now choose to display the battery percentage beside the icon for better clarity.

Here’s what the new icons mean:

Green Icon: Your PC is charging optimally.

Yellow Icon: The device is in energy-saving mode, typically activated when battery levels drop to 20% or lower.

Red Icon: Critical battery level; charging is recommended immediately.

You will encounter these updates in several locations, including the taskbar, quick settings flyout, and within the Settings menu. Additional enhancements for Lock screen battery indicators are set to follow in subsequent updates.

For more detailed battery information, hover over the battery icon in the system tray. You can also adjust the energy saver mode’s activation percentage via Settings > System > Power & Battery.

To enable the battery percentage display, navigate to Settings > Power & Battery and activate the relevant toggle.

The ability to share files via the taskbar jump lists has been introduced, enabling quick access when right-clicking on applications with jump lists, like Notepad.

Bug Fixes

General: Resolved error code 0x8007000d related to installing Build 27788 and a. NET update issue (0x80073712), which no longer applies to Build 27802.

File Explorer: Fixed rendering issues encountered when restoring minimized File Explorer windows.

Taskbar: Corrected inconsistencies found in the display of date and time between monitors.

Input: Adjustments made to ensure customized mouse colors maintain appearance during UAC dialogs.

Lock Screen: Addressed crashes occurring when selecting the “sign-in options”link.

Administrator Protection: Averted resource loader cache errors and resolved minor display anomalies in the Windows Security interface.

Audio: Fixed a bug that hindered audio playback for some users.

Remote Desktop: Corrected the black screen issue encountered when signing into a PC after a remote desktop session.

[IMPORTANT] Users switching to the Canary Channel on new Copilot+ PCs may experience loss of their Windows Hello PIN due to error code 0xd0000225. You can reset your PIN through the “Set up my PIN”option.

Some popular games, including Roblox, may trigger a bugcheck (green screen).A resolution is anticipated in the next build.

Printing:

Printing issues from select applications may cause bugchecks (green screen).

Battery Icon Colors:

Incorrect battery icon colors may appear based on your Personalization settings.

Search Functionality:
