New Dragon’s Dogma 2 Mods Overhaul Visual Effects and Tattoos
Recently, two additional mods for improving the game’s visual effects and tattoos have been released for the PC version of Dragon’s Dogma 2.
“Modder CnRJay has created the 4K “High-Res VFX”and “High-res Tattoos”texture packs for the game, using AI upscaling to greatly improve the standard visual effects and character tattoos. In their words, “every single VFX texture has been upscaled to 4K”. The pack includes enhanced 4K versions of magic effects, liquid, blood, sparks, dust, decals, and more.”
To utilize the 4K texture packs on your PC, you will be required to acquire and set up the “Fluffy Mod Manager“specifically designed for the game. Below, we have provided some images showcasing the effects of these newly added modifications.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has been released globally for both PC and consoles.
“One thing that remains unclear is how to alter the Core Skills. While Weapon Skills can be easily swapped at a Vocation guild or campsite, there seems to be no clear method for changing Core Skills. Some of these skills only modify existing ones, while others are meant to completely change them. For example, the Mystic Spearhand’s default skill is Redouting Bolt, but even after unlocking Foreboding Bolt, I was unable to use it due to a lack of explanation.”
Initially, the absence of a dodge button caught me off guard. It has become a staple in most action and action RPG games, so its absence was unexpected. Of course, there are alternative means of defense based on your chosen Vocation, and you could potentially utilize the sprint button as a clumsy substitute for dodging, but it’s not quite the same.
Despite these caveats, the combat in Dragon’s Dogma 2 remains highly enjoyable. As is common in this genre, the most exhilarating battles are typically those against bosses, with the exception of the overly lengthy final fight. Facing off against colossal cyclops or towering drakes and strategically targeting their weaknesses while managing your stamina is just as thrilling as in the previous installment.
