New Copilot+ Features for Intel and AMD Systems in Windows 11 Update KB5058493

Microsoft has recently addressed a temporary issue by releasing two new builds for Windows Insiders. Users enrolled in the Dev Channel can now access build 26200.5581 (KB5058493), offering enhanced AI-driven experiences for Intel and AMD Copilot+ PCs. One notable feature is the inclusion of new Click to Do actions. Furthermore, this update introduces a variety of system improvements, including an enhanced FAQ section designed to provide swift and informative responses regarding PC usage.

It’s important to note that the AI assistant offered in the Settings app is initially being rolled out to Beta Channel users, with a planned release for Dev Channel users at a later stage.

Changelog Overview

New Features for Copilot+ PCs

The update brings intelligent text capabilities within the Click to Do feature for both Intel and AMD-powered Copilot+ PCs. Users can utilize the shortcut WIN key + mouse-click or WIN + Q to highlight a text block, enabling options such as Summarize, Create a bulleted list, and Rewrite to adjust the tone of their text—increasing its casualness, formality, or polish.

Click to Do in Windows 11

The Click to Do feature leverages the Phi Silica on-device Small Language Model (SLM), seamlessly integrating intelligent suggestions directly into the user experience. Users can easily copy revised text for use across various platforms, ensuring great convenience.

For the intelligent text actions to function, your system must be set to English, at least 10 words must be selected, and you must be logged in with either a Microsoft or Microsoft Entra account.

Gradual Updates with Toggle Activation

The latest changes also include:

  • Click to Do (Preview): Temporary limitations for users with French or Spanish as their primary language; currently, only Summarize, Create a bulleted list, and Refine are available. Other options, including Rewrite, will return in a future update.

Dynamic Lighting Enhancements

  • Dynamic Lighting-enabled devices can now be removed safely via the “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media” icon in the taskbar.

Settings App Upgrades

  • The new AI agent experience is starting its rollout to the Beta Channel, with the Dev Channel to follow once the appropriate ML frameworks are set up.
  • A new FAQ section is now available under Settings > System > About, providing users with quick, insightful responses to common questions about Windows 11.
