New Artifact Sets Leak for Genshin Impact Version 5.5

Overview of Genshin Impact Version 5.5

  • Genshin Impact’s version 5.5 will unveil two new Artifact Sets, enhancing Plunging Attacks and Cryo character abilities.
  • The Plunging Attack set supports stacking damage bonuses, whereas the Cryo set enhances damage output when energy is depleted.
  • These innovative Artifact Sets are designed for new characters like Varesa and Skirk, suggesting exciting new gameplay strategies.

A recent leak has revealed that Genshin Impact will introduce two fresh Artifact Sets in version 5.5. One of these sets is particularly tailored for Cryo characters, presenting a novel gameplay mechanic. Upon the launch of the Natlan region in August 2024, two impactful Artifact Sets debuted: the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City and the Obsidian Codex. Both sets were meticulously crafted for characters from Natlan, emphasizing the region’s unique Nightsoul mechanic. Since the Waterfall Wen was released in version 4.3 during the Fontaine chapter, players have been eagerly anticipating the reveal of Natlan’s second Artifact Domain.

With characters like Lan Yan from Liyue and Mizuki from Inazuma being introduced, Genshin Impact did not see a need for a second Artifact Domain in versions 5.3 or 5.4. However, as the upcoming map expansion demands new Artifact Sets, version 5.5 is poised to introduce exciting mechanics leading into the latter half of Natlan’s patch cycle. This update will include Artifact Sets designed not only for Varesa but also for anticipated 5-Star characters launching in March 2025.

As noted by Narc1ssus, version 5.5 will feature an Artifact Domain comprising two distinct sets. One set aims to enhance characters focused on Plunging Attacks, while the other is designed for a specific Cryo skill set. While characters like Xiao will benefit from the first set, it appears the primary focus is on Varesa, with the Cryo set catering to characters that do not utilize Elemental Energy. At this point, only Mavuika and Sethos meet this criterion, neither of whom are Cryo characters.

First Artifact Set Details

  • 2-Piece Bonus: Increases damage from Plunging Attacks by 25%.
  • 4-Piece Bonus: Grants stacks of “Everlasting Radiance”upon hitting enemies with Plunging Attack, Charged Attack, or Elemental Skill, incrementing 1/2/2 stacks respectively. This effect is activatable once per second by each attack type.
    • Everlasting Radiance: Each stack results in a 15% increase in Plunging Attack damage for 6 seconds, with a maximum of 5 stacks. The duration of each stack operates independently.

Second Artifact Set Details

  • 2-Piece Bonus: Increases Cryo DMG Bonus by 15%.
  • 4-Piece Bonus: When the wielder’s Energy is depleted, both Normal Attack and Elemental Burst damage are increased by 60%.After dealing damage with either attack type, the respective damage increase effect is disabled for 6 seconds, allowing for off-field activation of these bonuses.

Looking ahead at forthcoming characters, Skirk is anticipated to utilize the Cryo element, with potential for characters like Effie or Dahlia to follow suit. The structure of the second Artifact Set suggests a design focused on enhancing Skirk’s gameplay, possibly channeling an Elemental Burst mode akin to Raiden Shogun, complemented by robust Normal Attack functionality. This design mirrors Tartaglia’s weapon-switch mechanic via Elemental Skills, indicating a thoughtful character synergy.

Regarding the first Artifact Set, it stands to become a coveted choice for characters like Xiao and possibly Gaming. To optimize the damage boost from the Plunging Attack bonus, players will need to effectively cycle through Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Charged Attacks within a 6-second window. Given the emphasis on Plunging Attacks in version 5.5, it’s likely that Xianyun will feature prominently on Event Banners in the upcoming patch. Players can look forward to the launch of version 5.5 on March 26, 2025.
