Apex Legends has introduced a recent gameplay update designed to optimize the battle royale experience and rectify various bugs. Following the launch of Season 24 on February 11, 2023, Respawn Entertainment remains committed to enhancing the game through ongoing updates. Although this newest patch does not implement major balance modifications, it aims to improve player experiences significantly.

Season 24 has ushered in sweeping changes, particularly within the Assault class, which has undergone a notable overhaul. The update has introduced three powerful enhancements: Combat Reserve, Stowed Reload, and Battle Surge. Additionally, existing Legends such as Ash and Ballistic have received meaningful buffs, and numerous weapons have been adjusted. This continuous stream of patches is a testament to Respawn’s dedication to refining Apex Legends since the season began.

On February 24, a new update was deployed, focusing on fixing various in-game issues. Notably, players will now benefit from improvements to Ash’s ability, which previously suffered from unintended dash triggers. Moreover, the update addresses a visual delay issue with Wattson’s fences, enhancing their functionality. Additional fixes also include ensuring Mythic R-301 attachments are preserved after respawn and that Wraith’s Slow-Clap emote operates correctly.

This update also addresses several annoying crash-related issues. A specific crash while accessing the Match Summary screen has been rectified, and problems that caused crashes on Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch have been resolved. Given that player disruptions from crashes can greatly diminish enjoyment, these fixes are expected to foster a smoother gameplay experience.

It’s notable that these updates arrived shortly after a previous patch that reduced Ash’s abilities, sparking mixed reactions within the community. While Respawn’s goal was to enhance the viability of the Assault class at the start of Season 24, the adjustments to Ash, particularly nerfing her Predator’s Pursuit passive, have been perceived as excessive.
