Netflix Reveals Season 5 Details for Crime Scene Variety Show: What We Know So Far
Netflix has officially announced the production of a new season of Crime Scene, a highly regarded role-play variety show that is set to be available worldwide as a Netflix original series.

The primary objective is to identify the actual perpetrator. The series is celebrated for its intricate game boards, compelling narratives, and complex player interactions, delivering intense mystery-solving experiences that keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Crime Scene made a remarkable comeback last year following a seven-year hiatus. The previous season featured an impressive cast including Jang Jin, Park Ji Yoon, Jang Dong Min, SHINee’s Key, Joo Hyun Young, and IVE’s An Yu Jin.
Fans are thrilled about the announcement of the fifth season, produced exclusively for Netflix. According to iMBC Entertainment, this forthcoming chapter promises a more expansive and immersive experience, complete with enhanced production quality and refined game mechanics.
The series has enjoyed widespread acclaim over its four seasons, winning prestigious awards such as the top prize at the New York TV & Film Festival, the grand prize at the Asian Television Awards, and the gold prize at the Houston International Film Festival. These accolades highlight the show’s exceptional quality and status in the entertainment industry.
In 2016, Mango TV acquired the rights to create a Chinese adaptation titled Who’s the Murderer, which has also achieved significant popularity.
A representative from Netflix expressed enthusiasm about the series’ return, stating:

Star-Studded Lineup Evolves: A Look at Crime Scene‘s Cast Through the Seasons
Over the seasons, Crime Scene has showcased a diverse array of stars. The inaugural season in 2014 featured Hong Jin-ho, a former professional StarCraft player, alongside hosts like Park Ji-yoon, Jun Hyun-moo, Lim Bang-geul, and lawyer Kang Yong-suk. Hong Jin-ho and Park Ji-yoon reprised their roles in the 2015 season, accompanied by film director Jang Jin, comedian Jang Dong-min, and singer-actress Hani.
The third season, which premiered in 2017, saw the return of Park Ji-yoon and Jang Jin, with the addition of comedian Yang Se-hyung, singer Jung Eun-ji, and actors Kim Ji-hoon and Kim Min-gue. In 2024, the fourth season, titled Crime Scene Returns, welcomed back Park Ji-yoon, Jang Jin, and Jang Dong-min, along with new members including Key from SHINee, Joo Hyun-young, and An Yu-jin from IVE.
While the official cast members and release date for the upcoming season remain unannounced, the news of its renewal for Netflix has already sparked considerable excitement among fans.
